Chittagong Kings handed Rangpur Riders their third consecutive defeat, securing a thrilling 5-wicket victory with 14 balls to spare. This win helped Chittagong Kings climb to third place on the points table.
Chasing a target of 144, Chittagong Kings got off to a steady start thanks to Parvez Hossain Imon. However, it was Haider Ali's explosive batting towards the end that sealed the victory for Chittagong. Haider faced just 18 balls, smashing 6 sixes and 1 four, scoring 48 runs at a strike rate of 266.66.
Rangpur Riders, who had been soaring with 8 consecutive wins, suffered their third loss in a row after defeats to Durbar Rajshahi and now Chittagong Kings.
Earlier, Rangpur Riders batted first after losing the toss, finishing their innings at 143/5 in 20 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed remained unbeaten on 65 off 47 balls, while opener Soumya Sarkar contributed 23 runs off 17 balls. Late cameos from Sheikh Mehidi (22 off 20 balls) and a brief but disappointing knock from captain Nurul Hasan Sohan (9 off 21 balls) couldn't help their team to a stronger total.
Chittagong Kings lost a few wickets in the chase, but Parvez Hossain Imon kept the innings on track with his calm and composed batting. Graham Clarke and captain Mohammad Mithun made contributions of 15 and 20 runs respectively but fell before the finish. However, Haider Ali's late onslaught with 6 sixes turned the match in Chittagong's favor, securing the win for his team.
