Chattogram Challengers' Flag Raised in BPL 2025 Despite No Team
In the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), there is no team named Chattogram Challengers. However, it seems that the essence of the Challengers is still very much present on the BPL field. Perhaps the officials at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are aware of the "presence" of Chattogram Challengers in the competition, as they raised the Challengers' flag alongside the other teams at the Mirpur Home of Cricket.
Today, in the first match of the day, Rangpur Riders will face off against Khulna Tigers, while in the evening, Sylhet Strikers will battle Chattogram Kings. Early in the day, flags for the four teams playing were raised next to the Bangladesh, BCB, and BPL flags on the grandstand. While the flags of all other teams were correctly displayed, the flag of Chattogram Kings was missing.
Instead of the Chattogram Kings' flag, the flag of the former franchise, Chattogram Challengers, was seen flying.
Seeing the Chattogram Challengers' flag on TV, some fans humorously commented, "You’re in a new relationship, but you still can’t forget your ex. That’s why the BCB has raised the Chattogram Challengers flag."
This year, Chattogram's team is playing under the name Chattogram Kings. However, while raising their flag, the BCB unintentionally brought back memories of the former franchise, Chattogram Challengers.
