Taskin’s Departure Abroad, Emotional Farewell at the Airport
Taskin’s Departure Abroad, Emotional Farewell at the Airport
The national cricketers are leaving the country, heading toward the stage of the Asia Cup. As always, family members gathered to bid farewell to their beloved players. Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport witnessed a touching moment as Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed was seen off by his father Abdur Rashid, his wife, and his little daughter.
Taskin’s young daughter melted hearts with her sweet reaction to journalists’ questions. When asked, “Do you know where your father is going?” she nodded her head. On being asked again, she innocently replied, “He’s going to play!”
Taskin’s wife revealed that their daughter was saddened by her father’s departure. “She’s upset,” she said with a faint smile, though her eyes reflected a sense of emptiness.
But on the face of Taskin’s father, Abdur Rashid, there was pride and hope. “It feels so good. That’s why I keep coming to see him off again and again,” he said.
The proud father expressed his optimism about the Asia Cup, asking for prayers from the people of Bangladesh:
“Insha’Allah, this time Bangladesh will achieve something. I ask for everyone’s prayers so that our boys can do well.”
