Bangladesh Set to Face Pakistan in T20I Opener at Home
Fresh off a T20I series win in Sri Lanka, Litton Das and his men now turn their focus to a new challenge on home soil. Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in the first match of the three-match T20I series today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM local time.
After enduring nine consecutive losses at the toss across three series, Litton Das finally had luck on his side today. The Bangladesh skipper won the toss and opted to bowl first, sending Pakistan in to bat.
Earlier this year, Pakistan dominated Bangladesh in a T20I series held in Lahore, clinching a 3-0 sweep. Now, playing at home, the Tigers will be aiming for revenge.
Taskin Ahmed returns to the playing XI in place of pacer Shoriful Islam, marking one of the few changes from the team’s successful campaign in Sri Lanka. Notably, Bangladesh have deviated from their winning combination for this opening match.
Bangladesh Playing XI:
Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Parvez Hossain Emon, Litton Das (captain), Towhid Hridoy, Zakir Ali Anik, Shamim Hossain Patwary, Sheikh Mehedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman.
