Under the captaincy of Najmul Hossain Shanto, Rajshahi Warriors started the BPL with hope. The team won their first match by chasing 190 runs. Shanto scored a century in that match. Rajshahi’s coach Rajin Saleh believes that criticizing Shanto is completely wrong.
Speaking about Shanto’s performance, coach Rajin Saleh said,"And Shanto’s natural game, the way he is criticized for it, is completely wrong. He has proven himself and is playing his natural cricket, and he is performing."
However, despite starting with a win, Rajshahi lost their next match against Dhaka Capitals. Coach Rajin Saleh holds the batters responsible for the defeat. He said,"Yes, we lost the second match unfortunately. Because T20 is such a game where capturing momentum is very crucial. We couldn’t really catch that momentum in our batting."
He added,"Our top order is collapsing a bit. If we had got some contribution from there, it would have been better for us."
About the first match victory, Rajin said,"Alhamdulillah, the start with a win was very good. We chased 190 runs and won the first match."
Commenting on Dhaka’s bowling attack, he said,"They (Dhaka) have two pace bowlers, two foreign pace bowlers, and those who bowled in the slog overs bowled very well. That is probably why we couldn’t control the match."
