Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has recently expressed his surprise at Mohammad Rizwan's leadership. While Amir was once a fan of Rizwan’s captaincy, he now finds some of his decisions “strange.”

Speaking at a sports event, Amir compared Rizwan’s leadership to that of a fast Ferrari that has now turned into a rickshaw. He humorously remarked, “Mohammad Rizwan... you’ve gone from a Ferrari to a rickshaw (laughs). I used to like his leadership. He took the team to the finals in domestic cricket and the PSL, so I had faith in his leadership skills. But now, his decisions have completely changed.”

According to Amir, the changes that came with Rizwan’s captaincy have not been for the better. He added, “When Rizwan became captain, it seemed like he would bring positive changes to the team. But within just a few months, it felt like he had drifted away from a cricketing mindset.”

Many people believe that Rizwan didn’t have the final say in team selections. However, Amir disagrees with this view. He believes that if Rizwan had the power to be captain, he would also have had the influence to make changes to the team. “If Rizwan says he had no control over the team, that’s not entirely true. If you have the power of captaincy, you also have the opportunity to make changes as you see fit. But he didn’t take that step, and I don’t know why,” Amir explained.

Pakistan cricket has been facing significant criticism over leadership issues recently, and Amir’s comments have added further fuel to the ongoing debate.
