Dr. Kishore Shallow has been elected as the President of Cricket West Indies (CWI) unopposed for his second term. Similarly, Vice President Azim Bassarath has also been re-elected unopposed.
Their new term will officially begin on March 29, 2025, when the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Cricket West Indies will be held in Antigua. This marks Shallow’s second consecutive unopposed election as president, reflecting the regional cricket community's confidence and support in his leadership.
The Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board and the Leeward Islands Cricket Board nominated Shallow for the president's position, while Bassarath's nomination came from the Jamaica Cricket Association and the Windward Islands Cricket Board.
Following the election, Shallow expressed, “Being re-elected unopposed is a strong reflection of the support for our leadership and vision. We are working together to move West Indies cricket forward, and we must continue this progress.”
He added, “I fully understand the significance of this responsibility, and I am committed to maintaining the highest level of professionalism and governance. I am grateful for the nomination and want to express my thanks to all our partners.”
Bassarath also expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him, saying, "It is an honor to serve as Vice President of Cricket West Indies. We are working hard to improve our cricket, and we want to continue this progress."
The nomination deadline was February 27, 2025, and on that day, both Shallow and Bassarath’s unopposed election was confirmed. Their focus now is to further strengthen West Indies cricket.
