'We will play every match to win'

The Bangladesh cricket team has advanced to the Super Eights of the T20 World Cup after winning three matches in the group stage. The team's primary goal was to overcome the group stage and reach the Super Eights. With this achievement, the Tigers have joined the battle to reach the semifinals with renewed confidence.

Before the match against Australia, Bangladesh's head coach, Hathurusingha, mentioned that winning a match in the Super Eights would be a bonus for Bangladesh. This statement relieved the players of any additional pressure. However, despite the absence of pressure on the batters before the match against Australia, they have not been able to play significant innings. What could be the reason for this?

When captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was asked this question during the post-match press conference, he admitted he didn't know the answer. Shanto said, "It's difficult to say why we can't. I believe everyone in the team has the capability to play big innings. They have shown this ability at different times and places in the past. But why it isn't happening in the World Cup, I don't have an answer to that. Everyone has been given the freedom to play their natural game. But it’s just not happening."

Despite the loss in the Super Eights, the Tigers' dream of playing in the semifinals is not over yet. In the upcoming matches, Bangladesh will face India and Afghanistan. If they can win these two matches, the hopes for Shakib and Shanto's team to reach the semifinals will remain alive.

Regarding the upcoming two matches, Shanto said in the press conference, "Both matches are very important, and there's a lot to gain. Winning will put us in a better position. We will play every match to win."
