England name Bashir’s replacement for fourth India Test
The hosts were dealt an injury blow during the Lord’s Test win as off-spinner Shoaib Bashir sustained a fracture in his left hand.
England have called up Liam Dawson into their squad for the fourth Test against India as a replacement for Shoaib Bashir, who had been ruled out for the remainder of the series following England’s thrilling win at Lord’s.
Bashir had picked up an injury in his left hand while fielding during the third Test and was forced off the field on Day 3. The 21-year-old would eventually nab the final wicket to hand England a famous win.
