Sri Lanka Cricket Brings in Power-Hitting Specialist Julian Wood for National Teams
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has launched a unique initiative to boost the power-hitting skills of both its men’s and women’s national team batters. Renowned power-hitting specialist Julian Wood will arrive in Sri Lanka for an intensive one-week program from 30 July to 5 August.
During his stay, Wood will work closely with Sri Lanka’s national coaching staff to improve players’ hitting techniques and overall power game. The goal is to help batters develop greater striking ability in line with the demands of modern cricket.
Wood is known for his innovative "Power Hitting Program," which combines cricket technique, modern training methods, and biomechanics to dramatically enhance players’ striking capacity.
A highly respected consultant, Wood has previously worked with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), county teams like Gloucestershire, Hampshire, and Middlesex, as well as IPL franchise Punjab Kings.
This initiative is part of SLC’s broader preparation strategy for several major upcoming international tournaments, including the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Asia Cup, and other international assignments.
