India Announces Test Squad for Australia Tour
Abhimanyu Easwaran, Harshit Rana, and Nitish Kumar Reddy have been included in India's Test squad for the upcoming tour of Australia. However, Kuldeep Yadav misses out due to a hamstring injury.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced an 18-member squad featuring three uncapped players: opener Abhimanyu Easwaran, pacer Harshit Rana, and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. The Test series will commence on November 22, with the first Test taking place at the Perth Stadium against Australia.
Easwaran's remarkable performances in domestic cricket have earned him a spot in the squad. Jasprit Bumrah will serve as vice-captain alongside Rohit Sharma. It is possible that Rohit may miss one of the first two Tests for personal reasons, which could lead to Easwaran making his Test debut.
Kuldeep Yadav's injury has ruled him out of selection, and Mohammad Shami is also absent from the squad as he has not fully recovered from his ankle surgery.
India squad:Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Mohd. Siraj, Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar
