Allan Donald Appointed Johannesburg Super Kings Fast-Bowling Coach

Former Bangladesh fast-bowling coach Allan Donald has been appointed as the new bowling coach of Johannesburg Super Kings for the 2027 SA20 season. He will work alongside new head coach Albie Morkel, who has been promoted to the role following the departure of former head coach Stephen Fleming.

Donald brings extensive experience as a bowling coach at the international level, having worked with teams from Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa and Bangladesh.

In addition to international cricket, he has also coached at various domestic and franchise teams, including Warwickshire, Kent, the Mountaineers, Pune Warriors India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Donald will replace the franchise’s former bowling coach, Eric Simons, who will join Fleming in a new role in England.

The fifth edition of the SA20 is scheduled to begin on January 17, 2027, at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The opening match will feature the finalists of the 2026 edition, Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Pretoria Capitals. The tournament will conclude with the final in Cape Town on February 21.
