Royal Challengers Bengaluru Retains Kohli and 2 Other Players for IPL 2025
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a popular team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has yet to claim an IPL title. The franchise’s biggest star, Virat Kohli, has been retained for the 2025 IPL season.
In addition to Kohli, RCB has retained Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal, while no overseas players were kept on the roster.
To retain Virat Kohli, RCB spent ₹21 crore. Rajat Patidar’s retention cost ₹11 crore, while Yash Dayal was retained for ₹5 crore.
RCB has retained the fewest players after Punjab Kings, with only ₹37 crore spent on retentions. They have ₹83 crore remaining in their purse and hold three Right to Match (RTM) options for the IPL auction.
Players like Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj, and Faf du Plessis were not retained by RCB for the upcoming season.
