Bangladesh Announce ODI Squad for Australia Tour

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team are set to play their first-ever ODI series on Australian soil against the world champions. For this historic tour, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finalized a 16-member squad. The series will be Australia Women’s first bilateral assignment since lifting the T20 World Cup title, and Nigar Sultana Joty’s side will take on the powerhouse team in their own backyard.

All three matches of the tour will be played in Brisbane. According to the schedule, the Tigresses will face the hosts in the first 50-over match on October 9. The remaining two matches of the series will also be held at the same venue on October 11 and 14, respectively.

Several changes have been made to the squad that toured Zimbabwe last July. Juaeria Ferdous, Sumaiya Akter, Fahima Khatun and Fariha Trisna have been dropped from the Bangladesh team that lost the series 2-1. In place of the four out-of-form players, Sanjida Akter Meghla, Dilara Akter, Disha Biswas, Murshida Khatun and Habiba Islam Pinky have been recalled to the squad.
