Bangladesh are out of the tournament for sure

Bangladesh's women’s cricket team has been eliminated from the World Cup after suffering a 7-wicket loss to South Africa. Batting first, Bangladesh managed only 106 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their 20 overs. In response, the South African women reached their target with 16 balls to spare, sealing Bangladesh's exit from the tournament.

Entering the match with slim hopes of reaching the semifinals, the Bangladesh team faced South Africa in Dubai, but their defeat meant they were knocked out in the first round. Winning the toss and choosing to bat, Bangladesh lost their first wicket without scoring a run.

The second-wicket partnership between Sathi Rani and Sobhana Mostari was slow, accumulating just 36 runs off 45 balls. Sathi scored 19 runs from 30 balls, including 1 four and 1 six, before being dismissed. Sobhana Mostari and captain Nigar Sultana built another sluggish partnership for the third wicket, contributing 45 runs off 56 balls.

Sobhana was eventually out for 38 runs off 43 balls, while Nigar remained not out, scoring 32 runs off 38 balls. Swarna added 4 runs from 7 balls, bringing Bangladesh’s total to a modest 106.

Chasing a target of 107, the South African team started aggressively. Opener Laura Wolvaardt was dismissed for 23 runs, but Anika Bosh and Tazmin Brits then formed a solid partnership, adding 53 runs for the second wicket, effectively sealing Bangladesh's fate.

Anika scored 25 runs, while Tazmin made 42. Marizanne Kapp and Chloe Tryon completed the chase with 16 balls to spare, securing a convincing 7-wicket victory for the Proteas.
