Bangladesh’s Under-19 women’s cricket team made a brilliant start to their tour of Pakistan with a convincing victory. The visiting Bangladesh side defeated Pakistan Women’s Under-19 team by 30 runs in the first T20I of the series.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Bangladesh suffered an early setback, losing their first wicket with just two runs on the board, putting the Junior Tigresses under immediate pressure. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, but the lower-order batters showed tremendous resilience. Bangladesh eventually posted a fighting total of 117 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.

Sadia Akter was the architect of Bangladesh’s recovery. She played an impressive knock of 34 runs off just 25 balls, including one four and two sixes. Nishita Akter Nishi provided valuable support with a 23-run contribution. Kumari Sravanirani and Sadia Islam also added 12 runs each. At the very end of the innings, Adrita Naushin faced just two deliveries and scored six runs to help Bangladesh cross the three-figure mark.

For Pakistan, Mahnoor Zeb was the most successful bowler, claiming three wickets for 24 runs. Rozina Akter picked up two wickets.

Chasing 118, Pakistan made a promising start, but their momentum did not last against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack. Pakistan Women’s Under-19 opener Ravael Farhan attempted to score quickly, making 17 off 12 balls, while wicketkeeper Komal Khan top-scored with a slow-paced 29 off 39 deliveries.

However, Bangladesh’s consistently tight bowling made it increasingly difficult for Pakistan to maintain the required run rate. Despite efforts from Zufi Shan Ayaz, who scored 12, and Shehar Banu, who made 9, Pakistan could manage only 87 for 6 in their 20 overs.

Afrin Mim was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers, taking one wicket while conceding just 13 runs in her four overs. Farzana Isom and Adrita Naushin also claimed one wicket each.
