Ongoing conflict between Pakistan and India has led to heightened tensions, which are now impacting the world of cricket. The remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been moved to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), while the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended indefinitely.

The cricketing world has not remained untouched by the escalating situation following a terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam. In the aftermath, both nations have seen a series of retaliatory strikes. While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) managed to relocate the PSL to a neutral venue, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) opted to halt the IPL for an indefinite period due to growing security concerns.

In response to the war-like atmosphere and with player safety in mind, the PCB decided to shift the remaining eight PSL matches—including four league matches and the playoff stage—to the UAE. A revised schedule for these matches is expected to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has suspended the ongoing 2025 edition of the IPL, citing the need to ensure the safety of players, coaches, and all personnel associated with the tournament amid border tensions. A total of 16 matches, including 12 league fixtures, were still pending.

This decision came shortly after Thursday’s match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in Delhi was called off midway due to security concerns. The cancellation sparked speculation over the future of the IPL season, which was ultimately confirmed with the full suspension of the tournament.
