Taskin Ahmed Responds to Allegations of Assaulting Friend: Urges Public Not to Believe Rumors
Bangladesh national team pacer Taskin Ahmed has been accused of assaulting and threatening a childhood friend. A general diary (GD) was filed against him at the Mirpur Model Police Station on the night of July 26. In response to the allegations, Taskin has broken his silence and addressed the issue via a post on his official Facebook page.
In his post, Taskin urged everyone not to be misled by rumors. He wrote:
"Please do not be misled by rumors:
A lot is being said about an incident where it's alleged that I physically assaulted a childhood friend. I believe people should not give in to such baseless rumors or help spread misinformation. This is not respectful for me, my family, or my friend. The matter has already been discussed between my friend and me. It should never have escalated to this level. I just want to say that the situation is different from how it’s being portrayed — it’s fabricated, false, and driven by ulterior motives.
I hope everyone stands with the truth — and remember, truth never becomes false."
Taskin's post suggests that the incident has been resolved privately and claims the allegations are distorted and misleading. As of now, there has been no official comment from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) regarding the matter.
The fast bowler has urged fans and the general public to refrain from spreading or believing in unfounded allegations, emphasizing the importance of truth and mutual respect.
