After failing to shine on debut, Nahid Rana rewrote his story within just one match. Following a quiet first appearance, he emerged as the standout performer in his second outing, as his aggressive pace dismantled Karachi Kings.

In the Pakistan Super League clash on Thursday night, Peshawar Zalmi secured a massive 159-run victory over Karachi. Posting a daunting total of 246 runs first, they later bowled out their opponents for just 87.

Nahid was the pick of the bowlers. The young pacer delivered a brilliant spell, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs in 4 overs, including a maiden, earning him the title of the team’s most successful bowler in the match.

Fellow Bangladeshi pacer Shoriful Islam also made his mark in the game. After going wicketless in his previous two matches, he bounced back with 1 wicket, conceding 23 runs in 3 overs.

Pakistan’s experienced campaigner Iftikhar Ahmed also played a key role in Zalmi’s bowling attack, claiming 3 important wickets while giving away only 9 runs.

Earlier, Zalmi’s huge total was built on the brilliance of Kusal Mendis and Babar Azam. Mendis smashed a sensational 109 off 52 balls, hitting 14 fours and 4 sixes, setting the tone for the innings. Meanwhile, captain Babar remained unbeaten on 87 from 51 balls, anchoring the innings from start to finish.

It is worth noting that in his debut match of the tournament against Hyderabad Kingsmen, Nahid had gone wicketless, conceding 30 runs in 3 overs. However, in just his second game, he proved that it doesn’t take long to turn potential into performance.
