With the conclusion of the BPL, Durbar Rajshahi's journey has ended, but instead of returning home, the foreign players are stranded at their team hotel in Dhaka. None of the five foreign cricketers have received their unpaid salaries or flight tickets. As a result, they are forced to stay at the team hotel. The team owner and management are unreachable for the players. This situation has not gone unnoticed by former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif.
On behalf of Mohammad Haris and Ryan Burl, Pakistan's legendary cricketer Rashid Latif mentioned the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) via social media, writing, "BCB should resolve the financial issues."
Several negative incidents have surrounded Durbar Rajshahi recently, including players not receiving their salaries on time, the team being unable to pay hotel bills in Chattogram, and foreign cricketers boycotting matches due to non-payment. The latest controversy involves the five foreign players from Rajshahi — Zimbabwe’s all-rounder Ryan Burl, Pakistan’s batter Mohammad Haris, Afghanistan’s Aftab Alam, West Indies’ Mark Deial, and Miguel Cummins — being unable to return to their home countries because they haven't received the money owed to them by the franchise.
While some of the players received 25% of their contracted amount, others have not been paid a single penny. The players have not even received their daily allowances for the past 11 days.
Due to the non-payment, they are still staying at the team hotel. Durbar Rajshahi had been waiting until yesterday to see Khulna Tigers’ defeat by Dhaka Capitals, hoping for a chance to move forward. However, the situation took an unexpected turn; Rajshahi’s exit from the BPL was confirmed after Dhaka's loss.
