Bangladesh to Face India in Women’s U-19 Asia Cup Final
The Bangladesh Women’s U-19 cricket team has secured their place in the final of the Women’s U-19 Asia Cup by defeating Nepal in the Super Four stage. The Junior Tigresses registered a dominant 9-wicket victory over Nepal. Bangladesh will face India in the title decider on December 22.
On Friday, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Nepal Women’s U-19 team batted first but struggled from the beginning, losing wickets at regular intervals. They lost their first wicket with just 8 runs on the board and their second at 27. By the time they reached 35, half their team was back in the pavilion.
Bangladesh’s relentless bowling attack restricted Nepal to just 54 runs in 11 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Sabitri Dhami was Nepal’s top scorer with 11 runs, while no other batter reached double figures.
For Bangladesh, Farzana Yasmin, Anisa Akter, Fahmida Chhoya, and Habiba Islam each took one wicket.
Chasing a target of 55 runs in 11 overs, Bangladesh openers Fahmida Chhoya and Eva gave the team a strong start. The Tigresses lost their only wicket, Eva, for 18 runs when the team total was at 46. Fahmida Chhoya and Sumaiya Akter then completed the remaining task with ease.
Bangladesh reached the target in just 9.5 overs, losing only one wicket. Fahmida remained unbeaten on 26, while Sumaiya contributed 10 runs. Nepal’s only wicket-taker was Kusum Godar.
