West Indies finally experienced victory after a hat-trick of defeats, winning the fourth T20 match against England by five wickets and narrowing the series deficit. England had set a formidable target of 218 runs, but the Caribbean side chased it down with one over to spare.

In St. Lucia, England had a strong start after losing the toss and being sent to bat. They scored 63 runs in the powerplay, losing just one wicket. Phil Salt played a brisk innings of 55 runs off 35 balls, while captain Jos Buttler added 38 runs off 23 balls.

Jacob Bethell was the standout performer for England, scoring 62 runs off 32 balls with four fours and five sixes, making him the team’s top scorer. Bethell and Sam Curran combined to add 63 runs in the last five overs, helping England reach a total of 218/5.

Chasing 219, West Indies got off to a blazing start with an opening partnership of 136 runs in just nine overs between Evin Lewis and Shai Hope. Lewis was dismissed for 68 off Rehan Ahmed’s bowling, and on the very next delivery, Hope fell victim to a run-out after a destructive 54 off 24 balls. Nicholas Pooran was dismissed for a duck on the following ball, putting West Indies under temporary pressure with three wickets lost in three consecutive deliveries.

Rovman Powell then stabilized the innings, scoring 38 runs before being trapped LBW by John Turner. Sherfane Rutherford finished the job, hitting back-to-back sixes off English bowler Mason Mosley to seal the win with six balls to spare. Rutherford remained unbeaten on 29 off 17 balls.

Rehan Ahmed took three wickets for England, while Shai Hope was named Player of the Match.
