Schedule for IPL 2025 Playoffs announced
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for the IPL 2025 playoffs following the conclusion of an intense league phase featuring 70 matches.
The first qualifier between the top two teams on the points table will take place at the new PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, Punjab, on Thursday, May 29. The following day, Friday, May 30, the same venue will host the Eliminator, featuring the third- and fourth-placed teams.
After that, the action moves to the world’s largest cricket stadium—Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Qualifier 2, featuring the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator, is scheduled for Sunday, June 1. The tournament will culminate with the grand final on Tuesday, June 3, also at the Ahmedabad venue.
Originally, the playoffs were planned to be held in Hyderabad and Kolkata. However, due to a one-week postponement of the tournament and weather-related concerns, the IPL Governing Council decided to revise the playoff venues.
Additionally, due to persistent weather disruptions, the league match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad has been relocated to Lucknow. The fixture will now be held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
To accommodate potential delays, the remaining league matches—starting from May 20—will include an additional one-hour extension window under the updated playing conditions.
