PSL 2025 to Resume on May 17 Amid Easing Indo-Pak Tensions
With tensions between India and Pakistan de-escalating, cricket is slowly making its return. The remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 is set to resume on May 17, the same day the Indian Premier League (IPL) is expected to restart. This was confirmed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
While the PCB has yet to release a formal press statement, Naqvi disclosed the dates for both the resumption and the final of PSL 2025. According to him, the PSL final will be held on May 25. The official schedule and match venues have not been announced, but more details are expected soon from the board.
The tournament was put on hold earlier due to rising tensions along the India-Pakistan border, with eight matches still left to be played. These remaining fixtures are likely to take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore, according to preliminary plans.
The adjusted PSL schedule may impact Bangladesh's upcoming tour of Pakistan, which is set to begin on May 21. The five-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Pakistan is scheduled to start on May 25, with the first two matches in Faisalabad and the remaining three in Lahore.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed ongoing discussions with the PCB regarding the tour’s logistics in light of the revised PSL calendar.
