“Game Changer!” — Rishad Hossain Earns Praise from Lahore Qalandars’ Owner After Dream PSL Debut
After a match-winning bowling performance in his debut for Lahore Qalandars, Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad Hossain was seen beaming with joy in the team’s dressing room. His efforts didn’t go unnoticed, as team owner and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sameen Rana showered him with praise in front of the entire squad.
Rishad played a pivotal role in Lahore Qalandars' emphatic 79-run win over Quetta Gladiators in their second match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season. Lahore, who had lost their opening match against Islamabad United — a game in which Rishad was not included — bounced back strongly with the leggie's dream debut.
Coming into the side for the Rawalpindi clash, Rishad made an immediate impact. He bowled Rilee Rossouw to claim his first PSL wicket and went on to take two more scalps in the same over. He finished with figures of 3 for 31 from 4 overs, delivering a performance that lifted the team’s spirits and tilted the match decisively in Lahore's favor.
In the post-match celebrations inside the dressing room, Sameen Rana addressed Rishad affectionately as “my Bangladeshi brother” and said:
“What can I say about my Bangladeshi brother... Rishad, I think you are a game changer. The way you bowled today lifted the team’s confidence and proved that our bowling attack is the best in the tournament.”
Rishad’s standout debut not only earned him praise but may have solidified his place in the Qalandars' playing XI going forward. It was a night of pride for both the franchise and fans of Bangladeshi cricket.
