Expensive Yet Wicket-Taking: Rishad Hossain’s Mixed Outing as Lahore Qalandars Fall Short Against Multan Sultans
Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad Hossain had a mixed night in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as his side, Lahore Qalandars, lost to Multan Sultans by 33 runs despite his two-wicket haul.
Playing against Multan Sultans, Rishad gave away 45 runs in his four overs while picking up two wickets. Though expensive, he managed to contribute with the ball. However, his efforts with the bat were far less impactful. Coming in to bat at number six, Rishad managed just 2 runs off 4 balls before being bowled by fellow leggie Usama Mir.
Chasing a massive target of 229, Lahore Qalandars ended at 195/9 in their 20 overs. Kamran Ghulam Raja (50*), Sam Billings (43), and Fakhar Zaman (32) tried to mount a fightback but ultimately fell short as the Sultans registered their first win of this year’s tournament.
