BCCI announces BDT 174 crore reward for World Cup-winning Indian team
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward for the Indian team following their victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
In a statement, the BCCI said the champion Indian team will receive INR 131 crore as prize money after winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is approximately BDT 174 crore.
India lifted the trophy after defeating New Zealand in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this victory, they successfully defended the T20 World Cup title and became the first team in the tournament’s history to retain the trophy.
Furthermore, the win made India the first team to claim the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title three times, further strengthening their status as one of the most successful teams in the format.
The BCCI congratulated the players, coaching staff and selectors for this remarkable achievement and wished them continued success in the future, said the board’s Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia.
