Bangladesh lead by five runs, but the match started at 9:40

During Bangladesh's innings in a cricket match held in Chittagong, the game was interrupted twice by rain before the 8th over was completed. As per the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, Bangladesh, who had scored 44 runs for the loss of one wicket at 7.2 overs, were ahead by 5 runs. This meant that if the match could not resume, Bangladesh would be declared winners by a margin of 5 runs.

Fortunately, it was announced that the match would restart at 9:40 PM without any reduction in overs. Bangladesh, chasing a target of 125 runs, faced a setback as Liton Das was dismissed early. Liton managed to score only 1 run before losing his middle stump to Blessing Muzarabani, who exploited the gap between bat and pad.

The match initially resumed at 8:55 PM but was again halted by rain at 9:12 PM. At the time, Bangladesh’s score was 44/1 at 7.2 overs with Tanzid Hasan Tamim and captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto not out on 28 and 12 runs respectively.

To win, Bangladesh needed to score another 81 runs from 76 balls with 9 wickets remaining.
