Bangladesh Announce Squad for T20 World Cup 2026, Jaker Ali Left Out

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the national squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, set to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh will play their group-stage matches in Kolkata and Mumbai.

A 15-member squad has been named with Litton Das appointed as captain and Saif Hasan as vice-captain. Notably, Jaker Ali Anik has been left out of the squad. Despite being in the spotlight after scoring a century in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Najmul Hossain Shanto also failed to make the cut.

The selectors have opted for a bowling-heavy combination, including five pacers and three spinners. The pace attack features Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Shoriful Islam, while the spin department includes Sheikh Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, and Nasum Ahmed.

Nurul Hasan Sohan has been named as the backup wicketkeeper behind Litton Das.
