Tanzim Hasan Sakib Says Players Will Think Carefully Before Entering IPL Auctions in Future
Bangladesh cricket has been stirred by the exclusion of Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League (IPL), and players have also begun to react. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Bangladesh national team pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib said that players would think several times before entering the IPL auction in the future.
“We don’t actually know why he was removed from the IPL or why this happened. There could be political issues involved, but politics should not come into cricket. As players, we have the desire to play in the IPL and submit our names accordingly. What happens next year will be decided after discussions with our agents and the board,” Tanzim said.
Speaking about Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim added, “Fizz bhai has been bowling well from the very beginning, both for the national team and in franchise cricket. He never moves away from his areas of strength, and that’s why he has been so successful. We learn a lot from him, and he gives many tips to the bowlers. As a person, Mustafiz bhai is very humble and helpful. He jokes with everyone and has a very funny character inside the dressing room.”
Despite everything, Mustafizur himself remains calm, Tanzim noted. “Mustafiz bhai never talks about these things; instead, he brushes them off with a smile. I’ve never seen him worry about such issues.”
Tanzim Hasan Sakib, an important member of Bangladesh’s World Cup squad, said his focus is now entirely on the Bangladesh Premier League.
“For now, everyone is focused on the BPL. Once the BPL is over, we will probably start planning again for the World Cup,” he said.
