England Women’s cricket team have announced their squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. As hosts, the tournament will begin on June 12 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Experienced all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt will lead the side. This will be her seventh T20 World Cup. The squad features a blend of experience and youth. Uncapped 18-year-old spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman has earned her maiden call-up to the World Cup squad. Similarly, Issy Wong and Lauren Filer will also be playing their first World Cup. On the other hand, Danni Wyatt-Hodge will be featuring in her eighth T20 World Cup.

Charlie Dean has been named vice-captain. Fast bowler Lauren Bell will lead the pace attack, while Sophie Ecclestone remains a key figure in the spin department.

Head coach Charlotte Edwards said selecting the final 15 was a tough task. According to her, the selection process was challenging due to the depth of talent available.

As part of their preparations ahead of the World Cup, England will play both ODI and T20 series against New Zealand, followed by a T20 series against India. However, Sophia Dunkley, Charlie Dean and Danni Wyatt-Hodge will miss the ODI series to manage their workload.

England have been placed in Group 2 alongside West Indies, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland and Scotland. The hosts will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka on June 12 at Edgbaston.
