Bangladesh women’s strong performances in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers have not only translated into victories on the field, but have also had a significant impact on individual assessments in world cricket. In the latest updated ICC rankings, several Bangladesh women cricketers have made notable progress across the batting, bowling, and all-rounder categories.
The most talked-about name among the batters is Sharmin Akhter Supta. With back-to-back half-centuries against the United States and Ireland, she has jumped 22 places to reach 35th in the current rankings. With 156 runs in four innings, she is now the second-highest run-scorer in the ongoing qualifiers.
Lower-order batter Sobhana Mostary, who impressed with her quick runs, has also made significant progress, climbing 11 places to 52nd. Opener Dilara Akhter registered a big improvement as well, moving up 33 places to 70th.
There have been positive changes in the bowlers’ rankings too. Leg-spinner Rabeya Khan has been rewarded for her consistent performances, moving up one place to 14th. Fahima Khatun climbed six spots to 30th, while Sanjida Akhter Meghla also moved up six places to 54th. Sultana Khatun advanced one place to 81st, and Fariha Islam Trishna climbed three spots to 97th.
The Tigresses have also strengthened their presence in the all-rounders’ rankings. Rabeya Khan moved up two places to 28th, while Fahima Khatun climbed seven spots to 35th. The biggest jump came from Swarna Akhter, who surged 18 places to reach 44th. Ritu Moni advanced 23 spots to 87th, and Sanjida Akhter Meghla also improved significantly, moving up 14 places to 96th.
