Mustafizur Rahman Set to Feature for Mohammedan in DPL Super League
Bangladesh's premier pacer Mustafizur Rahman is all set to take part in the Super League phase of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL). He will represent the traditional powerhouse, Mohammedan Sporting Club, in the remainder of the tournament.
The first round of the DPL has now concluded, with the Super League stage kicking off from Wednesday, April 16. Alongside Mohammedan and Abahani, Gazi Group Cricketers, Gulshan Cricket Club, Agrani Bank, and Legends of Rupganj have secured their places in the top six.
Although the Bangladesh national team is currently engaged in a home Test series against Zimbabwe, Mustafizur is staying back in Dhaka, as he is not part of the Test squad. The left-arm seamer was seen practicing at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on the eve of the Super League matches.
Mohammedan's bowling unit has been significantly bolstered with the inclusion of Mustafizur. He will join a pace attack that already features national stars like Ebadot Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Abu Hider Rony.
Mohammedan will enter the Super League as table toppers from the initial group phase. Matches will be held at Mirpur and BKSP grounds 3 and 4.
The Super League fixtures are tentatively scheduled for April 16, 18, 20, 23, and 25.
