JPL Season 7 Final Shines in Singair with Presence of Star Cricketers
The grand finale of the 7th edition of the Joymontop Premier League (JPL) in Singair, Manikganj was held in a festive atmosphere with the presence of former national cricketers of Bangladesh. The event was sponsored by “The Plasticity,” a supporting entity from the pharmaceutical industry.
The final match took place on Saturday (April 19) at 1 PM at the southern ground of Joymontop High School. Competing in the final were Bhakum Samaj Kalyan Parishad and Super Strikers of 0709. In a thrilling contest, Super Strikers of 0709 clinched victory by just 1 run, becoming the champions of JPL Season 7.
Kaushik was named the Player of the Tournament, while Tushar was awarded Player of the Final. The match was officiated by umpires Mozammel Habibullah and Liton Ahmed.
The tournament began on January 25 with an inaugural ceremony, featuring five teams: Bhakum Samaj Kalyan Parishad, Nayapara Gazinda XI, Dashani Tigers, Super Strikers of 0709, and Deuli Super Kings. After the group stage, the two finalists emerged.
The final ceremony was conducted by JPL General Secretary Advocate Md. Mozzafar Hossain Jiku and presided over by President Md. Fayzur Rahman. The event's chief guest was Md. Mizanur Rahman, Managing Director of The Plasticity Company and a young industrial entrepreneur.
Special guests included former national team captain Mohammad Habibul Bashar Sumon, former captain and batsman Mohammad Ashraful, and former opener Javed Omar Belim.
Also present were Engineer Md. Saifur Rahman Saif, Managing Director of Sayan Resort; former Chairman of Joymontop Union Parishad Habibul Alam Md. Ali; General Secretary Ataur Rahman Bacchu; and founder & director general of Joymontop Sporting Club Subrata Kumar Nikkan, along with nearly 10,000 enthusiastic local sports fans.
The curtains fell on this season of the JPL at 6 PM with the prize distribution ceremony for the champion and runner-up teams.
