Shakib Al Hasan Navigates Tough Times Amidst Legal Troubles
Shakib Al Hasan is currently facing challenging times. Since the government upheaval, he has encountered a series of unfortunate events, including legal cases and hefty fines. Concerns regarding his safety upon returning to his home country have also arisen. Despite these difficulties, Shakib continues to play cricket regularly, prompting questions about how he maintains his focus.
Ahead of the second Test against India in Kanpur, Shakib addressed this query during a press conference. "It's very tough. Only Allah knows how I'm managing this; I don’t even know myself. Regarding the case you mentioned, everyone has their rights. You all know what kind of case it is and where I was or what my role was at that time. I don't want to say much about it."
He also expressed his desire for proof against the false allegations made against him. "One more thing that has recently happened in my life is that I’ve never traded on my own. If someone says that I have, I would be happy to be proven wrong. Anyone can say anything, but if it had been done in a more proper way, it would have been better. It would have been mentally easier for me. I don’t believe these false allegations reflect well on our country, especially when people from outside talk about us. It’s unfortunate that I’ve been associated with words I’ve never even used."
Shakib expressed gratitude to those who have supported him during these tough times. "I am very grateful to them. Their support always inspires me. I believe it's their encouragement that has helped me reach this far."
Regarding his return to Bangladesh, Shakib said, "I am a citizen of Bangladesh. However, I do have some concerns about returning. There are safety concerns that I’ve heard about while staying in Bangladesh. But I hope the situation improves; let's see."
