Reece Topley Ruled Out, Confirms England Cricket
Due to injury, English pacer Reece Topley has been ruled out of the remaining matches in the T20 series against the West Indies. England Cricket confirmed the news in a statement on their official Facebook page on Thursday, announcing that he will return home for rehabilitation.
In the first T20 against the West Indies in Barbados, Topley slipped while bowling the third ball of the fifth over and injured his knee. The game was briefly halted due to rain, and when play resumed, Topley attempted to continue bowling but was unable to complete his spell and missed the rest of the match. He also missed the second T20 as a result. Topley will undergo a scan in London on Friday to assess the extent of his injury.

In addition to being ruled out of the West Indies series, Topley faced further trouble just two days earlier for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct. While walking up the pavilion stairs after injuring his knee, Topley struck a chair against the stairway railing, breaking it in frustration.
For this breach, Topley has been fined 15% of his match fee, and one demerit point has been added to his record. This is Topley’s first demerit point in 24 months, and any player who accumulates four demerit points within two years will face suspension.
Meanwhile, England has already clinched the five-match T20 series, leading 3-0. The remaining matches are scheduled for November 17 and 18.
