South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has achieved a remarkable feat against Bangladesh by becoming the fastest bowler in the world to take 300 Test wickets. This record was previously held by Pakistan's Waqar Younis.
On Monday, during the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Rabada entered the match with 299 wickets. He reached the 300-wicket milestone by bowling out Mushfiqur Rahim. In Bangladesh's first innings, which ended at just 106 runs, Rabada played a crucial role by taking 3 wickets.
Waqar Younis had taken 12,602 balls to claim his 300 Test wickets, while Rabada broke that record with 785 fewer balls, needing just 11,817 balls to reach his milestone.
Before Rabada, five other South African bowlers had taken 300 Test wickets: Dale Steyn, Shaun Pollock, Makhaya Ntini, Allan Donald, and Morne Morkel.
