In the fourth Test of the ongoing series against India at Old Trafford, Manchester, the English batter surpassed legends Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, and Rahul Dravid, joining Sachin Tendulkar at the top of the all-time Test run-scorers list.
With his 38th Test century, Root moved up to second place in the list of leading Test run-scorers, leaving behind several all-time greats. He now has 13,409 runs in just 157 Tests, making him the closest active player to Tendulkar’s towering record.
