Delhi Capitals' captain Rishabh Pant has been fined 12 lakh Indian Rupees for breaching the Indian Premier League's (IPL) Code of Conduct. In the 2024 IPL, Delhi Capitals have tasted their first victory by defeating Chennai Super Kings.
Amid the joy of the first win, there's also a tinge of sorrow due to the penalty imposed on Delhi Capitals' captain Rishabh Pant.
Pant did not play in the 2023 IPL due to a road accident. This year, he's back in the IPL, leading Delhi once again. He has been fined due to the slow over-rate during the match.
An IPL statement has conveyed, "Rishabh Pant has breached the IPL Code of Conduct regarding the over-rate. This incident marks his first breach this season, and he has been fined 12 lakh Indian Rupees."
Although Pant is unlikely to be greatly affected by the fine. He himself witnessed the consequences of a slow over-rate during the victory against Chennai.
