In the NCL T20, Dhaka Metro ended Rangpur’s unbeaten run with a commanding 7-wicket victory in a clash of the undefeated teams. Meanwhile, Rajshahi was eliminated from playoff contention after losing to Dhaka by 7 wickets in another match of the day.

After losing the toss, Rangpur struggled with the bat, losing wickets from the outset. At 38/6, their innings seemed doomed until Alauddin Babu and Enamul Haque added 64 runs for the seventh wicket, helping Rangpur cross the 100-run mark.

Alauddin top-scored with 47, while Enamul remained unbeaten on 34. Rangpur was bowled out for 125 with 3 balls to spare. For Dhaka Metro, Aliss Al Islam and Abu Hider Rony each claimed three wickets.

In response, Dhaka Metro chased the target with ease, reaching 126/3 in just 15.3 overs. Shadman Islam’s steady 54 and Anisul Islam’s 29 provided the foundation, while Imranuzzaman chipped in with 25. With this win, Dhaka Metro topped the table with six straight victories and 12 points, securing their playoff spot alongside Rangpur, who have won five matches.

In the other match, star-studded Rajshahi faltered with the bat, being bowled out for 140 after losing the toss. Towhid Hridoy scored a team-high 37, while Sabbir Hossain contributed 32. Najmul Hossain Shanto managed only 1, and Mushfiqur Rahim added 13. For Dhaka, Iqbal Hossain Imon picked up 3 wickets, with Nazmul Islam Apu and Sumon Khan taking 2 each.

Chasing 141, Dhaka made a strong start with a 96-run opening partnership. Rony Talukdar scored 33, while fellow opener Jawad Abrar smashed a blistering 62 off 39 balls. Ariful Islam’s unbeaten 19 guided Dhaka to victory in just 15.1 overs with 7 wickets in hand.

With this defeat, Rajshahi, sitting at the bottom of the table, is officially out of the tournament. Dhaka, one spot above Rajshahi, still holds slim hopes of qualifying, depending on results and calculations.
