The National Cricket League (NCL), regarded as the cornerstone of Bangladesh’s long-standing domestic cricket tradition and red-ball culture, is set to return to the field. The four-day tournament will begin on October 3 and enter its 28th edition this year.

 

Eight regional teams will compete for supremacy at the top of the points table over a period of nearly one and a half months. Each team will play a total of seven matches in the tournament. The competition will get underway on October 3, with the seventh and final round scheduled to begin on November 14. The tournament will officially conclude on November 17 with the completion of the final day’s play.

 

The first round will feature eight teams competing across four venues. In Sylhet, the hosts will take on Mymensingh, while defending champions Rangpur will face Dhaka at the Mirpur venue. At Khulna, in the country’s southwestern region, Khulna will meet Barishal, while Rajshahi will take on hosts Chattogram in Chattogram.

 

The second round will begin on October 10. Dhaka will face Sylhet at the main ground, while Rangpur will take on Mymensingh at the outer ground in Mirpur. At the same time, Khulna will play Rajshahi in Mirpur, while Chattogram will face Barishal at the Cox’s Bazar Academy Ground.

 

The third round will get underway on October 17. Sylhet will face Rangpur in Chattogram, while Dhaka will take on Mymensingh in Cox’s Bazar. At the Sylhet outer ground, Khulna will play Chattogram, while Barishal will travel to Rajshahi to face the hosts.

 

The fourth round will begin on October 24. Sylhet will meet Khulna in Cox’s Bazar, while Chattogram will face Mymensingh in Bogura. Dhaka will take on hosts Rajshahi in Rajshahi, while Rangpur will play Barishal at the Sylhet outer ground.

 

The fifth-round matches will run from October 31 to November 3. During this phase, cricket fans will see Sylhet take on Chattogram, Mymensingh face Khulna, Dhaka meet Barishal, and Rangpur play Rajshahi.

 

Immediately afterward, the sixth round will begin on November 7. Sylhet will face Rajshahi in Bogura, while Mymensingh will take on Barishal in Chattogram. Dhaka and Khulna will meet at the Home of Cricket in Mirpur, while Rangpur will face Chattogram at the Khulna venue.

 

The decisive seventh and final round of the tournament will begin on November 14.

 

In the final stage, Sylhet will take on Barishal in Khulna as the teams look to strengthen their position in the points table, while Rajshahi will face Mymensingh in Mirpur. Meanwhile, Dhaka will play Chattogram in Rajshahi, and Rangpur will face Khulna in the final match at the Sylhet outer ground.
