Adam Zampa has withdrawn himself from IPL 2024 due to personal reasons. He has quickly confirmed that there are personal reasons behind his decision. Zampa was set to play for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Cricket-based website Cricinfo has confirmed this news that Zampa will not be participating in the IPL.
Zampa was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a hefty sum of 1.25 crores in the recent IPL auction. Previously, in 2020, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Before that, he played for Rising Pune Supergiants in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. This time, Rajasthan retained him as a player.
Zampa's recent performances have been noteworthy. In the 2023 season, he played six matches for Rajasthan and took 8 wickets. He contributed significantly to Rajasthan's victory over Chennai Super Kings, taking 3 wickets for 22 runs.
With Rajasthan's pacer Prasidh Krishna out due to injury for the entire season, there are some concerns about team composition. Co-owner of Rajasthan, Manoj Badale, has also expressed some concerns regarding team formation. However, Rajasthan has not yet revealed who will replace Zampa and Prasidh.
Zampa is currently busy with a new family situation in Australia. Alongside playing in the BBL, he has played matches against India, West Indies, and New Zealand. He was present in all these series after the recent ODI World Cup.
