Bangladesh Looking Forward to India Series After Whitewash of Pakistan

After whitewashing Pakistan, the Bangladesh cricket team is now focusing on preparing for a strong performance against India. Despite India being the top team in the Test Championship rankings, Bangladesh’s series win over Pakistan has boosted their confidence, according to Litton Kumar Das.

Litton Das spoke to the media today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur about the upcoming series against India. Playing against teams like India and Pakistan often brings heightened expectations from fans, which naturally increases the pressure on players. However, Litton shared a different perspective, stating that playing against India is more of an inspiration than a pressure.

“It actually provides motivation. Performing well can bring fame, and more people will recognize you. There’s nothing bigger than that! I don’t think there’s any pressure. We are playing reasonably well in Test cricket now. Maintaining that consistency is the biggest challenge,” Litton said.

For Litton, the Pakistan series is now a thing of the past. He expressed a desire to focus on the future rather than dwell on the previous series. “We played very well against Pakistan. However, that’s already in the past. Looking forward is very important. It would be helpful if you could refrain from talking too much about the Pakistan series. As a player, that’s history for me now.”

When asked if batting lower down the order is more stressful, Litton responded, “There’s pressure everywhere. It’s not just about opening or batting at six; there’s pressure everywhere. Miraz bats below me, and there’s no pressure there. Test cricket is such that you have the whole day to turn things around from a zero. I don’t feel pressured. I’m trying to practice in the same way I usually do.”

Regarding preparations for the India series, Litton mentioned, “The India series will be challenging for us. As for preparations, we are facing our main bowlers. It will be somewhat difficult. Playing with the Kookaburra ball is a bit tough; it’s easier with the SG ball, but the old one is challenging. We are continuing our practice and will see how it goes.”
