South Africa Announces T20 Squad Against India, Klaasen and Miller Return
South Africa's coach Rob Walter has announced a 16-member strong squad for the T20 series against India. After a break, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, and Keshav Maharaj are returning to the team for this series.
South Africa will host India for a four-match T20 series. On Thursday, South Africa announced a full-strength squad for the series. In the last T20 World Cup, the Proteas were defeated by India in the title match, with Marco Jansen making his last appearance in that tournament. After a long hiatus, Jansen is set to return for the series against India.
Additionally, Gerald Coetzee has been included in the squad. Kagiso Rabada, who starred in South Africa’s recent Test series victory over Bangladesh, has been rested. Mihlali Mpongwana and Andile Simelane, who are awaiting their international debuts, have also been selected.
Anrich Nortje and Tabraiz Shamsi have not been included in the squad for the India series, and Quinton de Kock was not called up.
The T20 series between India and South Africa will be held on November 8, 10, 13, and 15.
