Shakib Al Hasan Set for Return in PSL 2025 with Lahore Qalandars
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to make his return to competitive cricket through the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, representing Lahore Qalandars. The star cricketer has been signed for the remaining matches of the tournament, which resumes on May 17 following a suspension earlier this year due to geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan.
Shakib is expected to feature in Lahore’s final league match against Peshawar Zalmi on May 18 in Rawalpindi. A win in this match would secure Lahore’s place in the playoffs, as they currently sit 4th on the table with 9 points from 9 matches.
Joining Shakib at Lahore is his compatriot Rishad Hossain, the young Bangladeshi leg-spinner who has already made a mark in the league.
Shakib’s participation is contingent on receiving a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). If cleared, this will mark his return to professional cricket after nearly six months—his last international appearance came in September 2024 against India.
The PSL 2025 will conclude with the final on May 25, with the remaining league and playoff matches set to be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
