Pakistan to Tour Bangladesh for T20 Series in July Amid Ongoing Series
Even before the ongoing series in Pakistan concludes, a new surprise has emerged—Pakistan is set to tour Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series in July. According to Pakistani media outlet Geo Super, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already sent a draft schedule to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The report states that Babar Azam's team will arrive in Dhaka on July 18. All three matches of the series are scheduled to be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, on July 20, 22, and 24.
Notably, this series is not part of the official Future Tours Programme (FTP). The decision to arrange the series was made during a meeting between the BCB and PCB in February-March this year during the ICC Champions Trophy window. After completing the Bangladesh tour, Pakistan will head to the West Indies for their next series.
Meanwhile, things are not going well for the Bangladesh T20 side currently touring Pakistan. Under Liton Das’s captaincy, Bangladesh has already lost the three-match series after defeats in the first two games. The two teams are set to face off in the final match today at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
In both matches, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring identical totals of 201 runs. Bangladesh lost the first match by 37 runs and the second by 57 runs.
