Mustafizur Rahman Cleared to Play Final Two League Matches for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025
Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has received the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to participate in the final two league matches of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) for Delhi Capitals. The uncertainty surrounding his participation has thus been officially resolved.
Mustafizur was recently signed by Delhi Capitals as a replacement for Jake Fraser-McGurk, who withdrew from the tournament due to personal reasons. However, his inclusion in the squad had been subject to approval from the BCB, particularly because of Bangladesh’s international commitments.
Bangladesh are scheduled to play two T20Is against the United Arab Emirates on May 17 and 19. Upon completion of this series, Mustafizur will travel to India and join the Capitals for their remaining group-stage fixtures.
Delhi Capitals have three matches left in the league stage, but the BCB has allowed Mustafizur to participate in two of those games:
-
May 21 vs Mumbai Indians
-
May 24 vs Punjab Kings
Should Delhi qualify for the playoffs, it remains to be seen whether the BCB extends his stay further.
With this clearance, "The Fizz" is set to make his IPL return in the final stretch of the league phase, bolstering Delhi’s pace attack as they push for a playoff berth.
