BPL 2025: Rangpur Riders
The players' draft for the upcoming BPL has concluded. The Rangpur Riders have successfully assembled their team from the draft. Previously, they retained some of their preferred players through direct contracts and retention processes. However, this time, the Rangpur Riders franchise has focused more on foreign players than local cricketers in building their squad.
From Monday's players' draft, the Rangpur Riders have acquired two foreign players along with eight local players. They have signed Ireland's Curtis Campher and Pakistan's pace bowler Aqib Javed.
Retaining last season's captain Nurul Hasan Sohan and Sheikh Mehedi Hasan through direct contracts, Rangpur also brought in all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin from local cricket. The franchise then acquired Nahid Rana, Saif Hassan, Soumya Sarkar, Rakibul Hasan, Rezwan Rahman Raja, Irfan Shukur, Kamrul Islam Rabbani, and Toufiq Khan Tushar from the draft table.
Earlier, they strengthened their squad with direct contracts, adding English star batter Alex Hales and two more Pakistani batters, Khushdil Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed. Saurav Netravalkar from the United States is set to make his BPL debut this season.
Another American player, Steven Ryan Taylor, has also joined the Riders franchise. Afghanistan's Allah Gazanfari will also play his first BPL season wearing the Rangpur jersey.
