BPL Player Payment Issues: Parvez Hossain Emon and Other Local Players Still Awaiting Half of Their Fees
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) concluded back in January, but opener Parvez Hossain Emon has yet to receive half of his payment for the tournament. It's not just Emon; nearly all the local players from Chattogram Kings are still waiting for half of their dues from the franchise.
The biggest talking point in the 2025 BPL season was the issue of player payments. Despite the BPL final having taken place two months ago, local players from Chattogram Kings have not received half of their contracted fees. Today, during the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) practice session at the Mirpur Home of Cricket, Parvez Hossain Emon shared his frustrations about not being paid.
Emon said, "I have received 50% of my payment, but the rest is still pending. They keep saying they'll pay us, but we haven't received anything yet. It's not just me; Shariful (Islam), Shamiem Bhai, and every local player are in the same situation. The only payment we've received is from during the BPL itself."
The issue of players not receiving their payments continues to persist, and the solution remains elusive. Parvez Hossain Emon once again pointed fingers at Chattogram Kings' owner, Samir Kader Chowdhury. Several teams in the current season of BPL have failed to keep their promises regarding player payments.
