A Rare Feat in World Cricket for Zimbabwes Raza
Zimbabwe’s experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza has achieved a rare milestone in international T20 cricket. In a World Cup match against India, despite scoring just 15 runs, he reached 3,000 runs in his T20I career while also taking his total wicket tally to 104. As a result, he became only the second player in international cricket history to complete the double of 3,000 runs and 100 wickets in T20 internationals.
Raza’s milestone moment came when he sent a delivery outside the off stump from India’s left-arm spinner Axar Patel to the long-off boundary. His 31-run innings that day was not only a personal achievement but is also being regarded as a major source of inspiration for Zimbabwean cricket.
Among Full Member nations, Raza is the first player to achieve this double. Previously, only Malaysia’s Virandeep Singh had reached the same landmark. In 132 T20 internationals, Raza has scored 3,016 runs and taken 104 wickets — numbers that reflect not just a milestone, but sustained performance. Consistency blended with experience has been his true strength.
Experts say Raza is a player who can handle pressure moments and deliver crucial contributions for his team at the right time. This achievement adds a new dimension not only to his personal career but also to Zimbabwean cricket as a whole.
